Privacy Policy

Liusmed Clinic ("the Clinic", "we", "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use this website (minimalcutsurgery.com) or contact us through the site's contact form. It applies to visitors in Taiwan, the European Economic Area, Japan, and Korea, and describes your rights under the data-protection laws applicable in those regions.

1. Information We Collect

(a) Information you provide: When you complete and submit the site's contact / appointment form, we collect the fields you enter, including your name, phone number, gender, age, email address (optional), LINE ID, WeChat ID, WhatsApp number, preferred clinic location (Taipei or Kaohsiung), preferred contact time, the service you are interested in, and a free-text message field. Please note that the free-text field may contain a health concern or symptom you choose to describe; whether and how much health-related information you share is entirely up to you.

(b) Information collected automatically: When you browse the site, our website-analytics tools automatically collect non-health usage and behavioral data, such as the pages you view, clicks, broad engagement, browser and device type, and an approximate location (country / city level) inferred from your IP address. This analytics data is used to understand overall site usage; we do not use it to build a health profile of you, and our analytics events do not include the category of medical service you are interested in.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to: respond to your inquiries; arrange and confirm appointments; communicate with you for post-operative follow-up if you proceed to treatment; operate and secure the website; and analyze site usage on an aggregate, de-identified basis to improve the site's content and experience. We use your information only as necessary to achieve these purposes.

3. Service Providers & Data Sharing

To operate this website and respond to you, we use the following third-party service providers, and some of your data is processed within their systems:

  • Google LLC (Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager) — for website usage analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga in your browser; our analytics data is routed to Google through our own first-party, server-side tagging endpoint.
  • Vercel Inc. (United States) — provides website hosting, cookieless aggregate traffic analytics, and website performance metrics. The entire site is hosted on Vercel's global edge network.
  • Resend (operated by Plus Five Five, Inc., United States) — when you submit the contact form, it delivers your submission to the clinic's email inbox. If you provide an email address, it is set as the reply-to address so we can respond to you.

We share data with these service providers solely to operate the site and respond to you. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for third-party advertising. Except where required to comply with a legal obligation or with your consent, we do not use the information you provide through the contact form for any other purpose.

4. Cookies & Similar Technologies

Google Analytics 4 sets _ga and _ga_<container-id> cookies in your browser to distinguish unique visitors and their visits, with a lifetime of roughly 13 months. Vercel's traffic analytics is cookieless. In addition, the site stores your theme preference (light / dark) and language preference in your device's localStorage to remember your choices; these are functional preference settings, not tracking. You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings, and visitors in the European Economic Area can choose to limit analytics cookies.

5. Data Retention

Inquiry data received through the contact form is kept until your inquiry is resolved and for a reasonable follow-up period (at most about one year), after which it is deleted; you may also request its deletion at any time. If you subsequently become a patient of the Clinic, your formal medical records are retained for at least seven years in accordance with Article 70 of Taiwan's Medical Care Act; for minors, records are kept until at least seven years after they reach the age of majority.

6. International Data Transfers

The service providers above — Google, Vercel, and Resend — may process your data on infrastructure located in the United States and other countries. When your data is transferred to these countries through your use of the site, we rely on the data-protection measures and safeguards provided by those service providers.

7. Your Rights

Under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), you may inquire about and review the personal data we hold, request a copy, request supplementation or correction, request that we cease collection / processing / use, and request deletion; you may also withdraw, at any time, any consent on which our processing relies. If you are in the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) additionally gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. If you are in Japan or Korea, you may exercise the corresponding rights of access, correction, and cessation of use / deletion under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), respectively. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the email or phone number in the "Contact Us" section below; we will respond within a reasonable time as required by applicable law.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. The site transmits data over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and the contact form includes safeguards against abuse and automated submissions. Please be aware, however, that no method of transmission or storage over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Children's Privacy

This site is a general-audience medical information and education website and is not directed at minors. Minors should use the site with a parent or guardian, who should provide any contact or appointment information on their behalf.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, service providers, or the law. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date below. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
