Thermage RF
Monopolar RF tightening | gentle relief × hollow-prevention × probe verified in personPhysician-operated · awake, no general anesthesia · genuine probe shot-count zeroed (effect & pain vary by individual)
For years Liusmed has handled revision of RF hollowing, burns, and post-injection complications. Precisely because we have seen "how it goes wrong," we know better "how not to hollow or harm." Thermage in our hands rests on the confidence of being able to repair — pre-treatment assessment, gentle relief, and genuine-probe verification, none optional.
RF — afraid of pain and of a hollowed face? Gentle relief × thin-face triage × probe verified in front of you
Physician-operated · fat-layer assessed before treatment to allocate energy precisely · genuine probe shot-count zeroed in front of you (effect and pain vary by individual)
Your Thermage at Liusmed Includes
Gentle pain relief, awake throughout (no general anesthesia, no sedation)
The manufacturer notes mild-to-moderate pain is common during treatment; we reduce discomfort with a gentle relief workflow — pain varies by individual
Thin-face / hollow-face candidate triage to avoid a more gaunt result
Fat-layer thickness and support assessed beforehand; over-concentrating energy in one area can cause fat atrophy — triage is the prerequisite for avoiding hollowing
Genuine manufacturer probe · shot-count zeroed in front of you
Modified/recycled probes have circulated in the market; we show you how to verify genuine packaging and shot-count in person — no splitting, no sharing
Hollowing / burn concerns — our revision specialty can step in
Post-RF fat hollowing can be assessed for autologous fat / filler restoration; this repair capability is the confidence behind our RF

Want a faster appointment? Here are a few ways
Share one of our posts publicly, and stay flexible for a visit within two weeks
Add our LINE, follow us on IG/FB and share a post, while keeping your schedule open for two weeks. Send us the screenshot when you book — the moment another patient cancels, we’ll call you to fill the slot first
Willing to let your case (no name, no face shown) be used as patient education
Sign the consent form and we’ll prioritize your consultation — your privacy is fully protected throughout
How to use: Please tell our booking staff via LINE message which option(s) you’d like to use — LINE leaves a written record so both sides stay aligned. In person works too, but please follow up with a quick LINE confirmation.
Fair use: To keep things fair to other patients — once priority scheduling is activated, please honor the matching commitment at your consultation (post stays public until your visit, consent form signed as agreed, responsive to standby notifications). If priority is activated but not fulfilled, you’ll return to the standard queue and future use of this option will need to be reassessed.
※ All of the above are entirely voluntary — choose one, several, or none. It won’t affect your care

Gentle Relief × Hollow-Prevention × Probe Verification
Gentle Relief, Awake Throughout
The manufacturer notes mild-to-moderate pain is common during RF — the barrier that stops many. We reduce discomfort with a long-developed gentle relief workflow: no general anesthesia, no sedation, awake throughout, so you can complete an adequate shot-count (pain varies by individual).
Thin-Face Triage, Hollow & Burn Prevention
Over-concentrating energy on thin-fat areas can cause fat atrophy and hollowing. The physician assesses fat-layer thickness and support beforehand, allocating energy and avoiding risk zones — thin faces get triage first, not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
Genuine Probe, Shot-Count Zeroed in Person
Modified/recycled probes have circulated. We show you how to verify genuine packaging, scan-check, and confirm the shot-count starts from zero — no splitting, no sharing. Actual shot-count depends on your case, explained via LINE or in person.
If You Have These Concerns
How RF Works — and Why Hollowing Happens
Monopolar RF: Volumetric Heating
Monopolar RF meets tissue resistance and converts electrical energy to heat, warming collagen-rich dermis and subcutis to ~55–65°C — collagen contracts immediately and new collagen is stimulated over the following months. Thermage FLX calibrates energy per pulse via AccuREP smart-impedance.
Vibration + Cooling: Comfort & Epidermal Protection
The device uses vibration (gate-control to disperse pain) and cryogen cooling before/after each pulse to reduce discomfort and protect the epidermis. Even so, deep heat can still hurt — which is why we add a gentle relief workflow on top (pain varies by individual).
Why Hollowing Happens: Energy × Fat Layer
In thin, poorly-supported areas, over-concentrated energy can cause local fat-cell atrophy — a hollowing opposite to anti-aging. Hence pre-treatment fat-layer assessment and energy allocation are the key step for hollow-prevention, not an optional extra.
Good Candidate
- ‧Mild-to-moderate facial laxity, collagen loss
- ‧Want tightening / fine-line improvement without surgery
- ‧Fear pain/anesthesia, want an awake gentle-relief option
Needs Evaluation / May Fit Other Options
- ‧Severe sagging — may need HIFU / threads or surgical evaluation
- ‧Marked hollowing/volume loss — volumization (HA/fat) may fit better
- ‧Pregnancy, local infection, implanted electronics (e.g., pacemaker) require prior disclosure/evaluation
Treatment Process
Consult → gentle relief → probe check → physician delivery → follow-up
Consultation
Laxity, fat layer, thin-face risk, prior treatments
Gentle Relief Plan
Awake throughout, no general anesthesia
Genuine Probe Check
Opened in person, shot-count zeroed
Physician Delivers
Zoned energy allocation, risk zones avoided
Follow-Up
Hollowing/burn concerns handled by revision specialty
Why Liusmed Treats "Hollow-Prevention" and "Genuine Product" as the Baseline for Thermage
The two most common RF complaints online are "hollow face after" and "fake probe." Neither is luck — both are process: fat-layer assessment and energy allocation decide hollowing; in-person opening and shot-count zeroing decide authenticity.
Literature Support
- ·Manufacturer data: Thermage FLX (monopolar RF) commonly causes mild-to-moderate pain, with vibration and cooling for comfort; rare but important adverse events include burns, transient nerve symptoms, and subcutaneous nodules. The manufacturer has not studied treating "over subcutaneous fillers," so combined treatments need careful planning.
- ·Clinical and community observation agree: in thin, poorly-supported areas, over-concentrated energy can cause fat atrophy and hollowing — the main mechanism of "hollowing," greatly reduced by pre-treatment fat-layer assessment and energy allocation.
- ·Taiwan has uncovered cases of smuggled, modified, and recycled probes entering the market, showing "fake probe" is a real risk; self-verifying via genuine packaging, scan-check, and shot-count zeroing is a defense consumers can control.
Dr. Liu — Clinical Observations
- ·We do not claim "painless" — pain varies. What we do is lower the barrier with gentle relief so most can complete an adequate shot-count, because "not finishing" is often the real reason effect falls short.
- ·For thin faces with insufficient fat support, blindly chasing lifting can magnify hollowing. In such cases we honestly suggest volumization (HA/fat) or a combination rather than telling everyone "you can do it."
- ·If you were already hollowed or burned elsewhere, our revision specialty can step in to assess — which is also why we are confident doing RF: we have answers even for "after it goes wrong."
Gentle relief, hollow-prevention triage, and in-person genuine verification — these three are our prerequisites for "RF worth doing."

"You can only treat what you can see" is the core belief running through every procedure I do. The subcutaneous world is intricate; what used to depend on experience and palpation now has a more reliable lens — advanced ultrasound. Seeing vessels, nerves, capsules, and glands first, then deciding where and how deep to cut — that is the standard every patient deserves.
